LOCKPORT – Two Buffalo residents have been indicted in connection with an allegedly elaborate shoplifting effort at a Town of Niagara store.

Derrick J. Nailor, 57, of Simon Street, pleaded not guilty in Niagara County Court Tuesday to third-degree grand larceny, driving under the influence of drugs, reckless driving, reckless endangerment, unlawfully fleeing a police officer, obstructing governmental administration and resisting arrest.

On Monday, Dominique L. Bradshaw, 18, of Dutton Avenue, pleaded not guilty to third-degree grand larceny and possession of burglary tools.

They are accused of stealing more than $4,000 worth of goods Aug. 13 from the Saks Off 5th store in the Fashion Outlets of Niagara. Surveillance videos of the crime exist, Assistant District Attorney Joseph A. Scalzo said.

Two other suspects have not been caught. Nailor was arrested following a police chase in which a patrol car was nearly struck by his vehicle.

“It’s a shoplifting ring. They steal things and sell them. [Bradshaw] used metal foil in her purse to get past the sensors,” Assistant District Attorney Cheryl L. Nichols said at the Monday arraignment.
