NIAGARA FALLS - An event to honor women with ovarian cancer and those who have died from the disease will be held at 8 p.m. Friday in Niagara Falls State Park.
Survivors, family and friends will gather for “The Journey” candlelight ceremony in the grassy area between Terrapin Point and the Top of the Falls restaurant on Goat Island. Participants should bring a flashlight or battery-operated candle. Those attending will be able to speak, read a poem or say a prayer. At 9, attendees will move to Terrapin Point to see the falls lighted in teal. The falls will also be lit from 10 to 10:15. The event is sponsored by Western New York Ovarian Cancer Project.
