Justin “Diddy” McTigue of Lockport was ordered by U. S. District Chief Judge William M. Skretny on Monday to serve a six-year prison term followed by four years of supervised release on his conviction for conspiracy to possess cocaine base with intent to distribute it, and distributing it for a Lockport-based narcotics trafficking ring.
Also Monday, LeShawn Woodard, 29, of Detroit, Mich., pleaded guilty before U.S. Magistrate Judge Leslie G. Foschio to a money laundering charge for engaging in unlawful monetary transactions involving criminally derived property greater than $10,000 in value for that drug ring. He faces a prison term of up to 10 years and a $250,000 fine or both at his sentencing, which has yet to be scheduled.
U.S. Attorney William J. Hochul Jr. said McTigue and Woodard are two of 20 defendants convicted as a result of an investigation involving narcotics trafficking in Lockport.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Mary Catherine Baumgarten said McTigue sold cocaine base in the Lockport area from 2009 through August 2010 that had been supplied to him by co-defendant Damian Ard. Ard faces sentencing by Skretny on Oct. 1 on his recent conviction on a charge of conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute cocaine base.
Baumgarten said Woodard from March 2009 through June 2009, deposited bank checks into bank accounts and transferred United States currency in excess of $40,000 on behalf of codefendant Will Johnson. On Dec. 27, 2012, Johnson was convicted of conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute 5 kilograms or more of cocaine and of money laundering conspiracy. Johnson will be sentenced by Judge Skretny on Aug. 29.
