LOCKPORT – A Niagara Falls 16-year-old pleaded guilty Wednesday in Niagara County Court to serving as a lookout during one of a series of armed robberies of 7-Eleven stores in the Niagara Falls area last September.
The boy, who was 15 at the time of the crime, admitted to attempted second-degree robbery in an appearance before County Judge Sara Sheldon Farkas. She shifted the case to Family Court for sentencing.
Assistant Public Defender Michael E. Benedict said the Niagara Street youth could be under the supervision of the state Office of Children and Family Services for as long as three years, with a maximum of one year in a secure detention facility.
The robber, Paul J. Schubert, 22, of Townsend Place, Niagara Falls, was accused of six stickups. He pleaded guilty and is serving a 10 1/3-year sentence in Attica Correctional Facility.
