Truesdale to seek re-election to ninth term on town bench

PORTER – Longtime Town of Porter Justice David J. Truesdale, a lifelong resident of the Town of Porter who will complete his 32nd year as justice, has announced that he will seek re-election to a ninth term.

Truesdale is a 1966 graduate of Lewiston-Porter Central High School. He graduated with a bachelor of science degree in elementary and early education in 1970.

Upon graduation he began his 32-year teaching career at Wilson Central School, where he taught fifth and sixth grades.

He completed his graduate studies at Niagara University in 1975.

Truesdale has served on several committees in the Town of Porter and as a member of the town’s Recreation Commission.

He is a life member of the Youngstown Volunteer Fire Company, where he has served as president, vice president, secretary, trustee and assistant chief.

He is currently the treasurer of the fire company.

He is a member of the New York State Magistrates’ Association and the Niagara County Magistrates’ Association, where he served as president and treasurer.

Truesdale completed his basic judicial training through the New York State Unified Court System in 1981 and has successfully completed his advanced training through this agency each year since 1981.
