The local YMCA is again offering free fitness classes in parks throughout the area this summer, through a program co-sponsored by Independent Health. This year, the program expanded into Niagara County, as sessions are being held at Artpark in Lewiston.
The “Fitness in the Parks” program offers classes such as pilates, yoga and cardio dance at eight parks: Artpark, Bassett Park in Amherst, Canalside and Delaware Park in Buffalo, Cheektowaga Town Park, Chestnut Ridge in Orchard Park, Ellicott Creek Park in the Town of Tonawanda, and Main Street Park in Clarence.
Another addition to this year’s schedule is a family recess on Sunday afternoons and walks along the waterfront on Monday, Wednesday and Friday lunch hours. Both of those offerings are at the Canalside location.
No registration is required. A full schedule is online at ymcabuffaloniagara.org.
