LOCKPORT – An admitted crack cocaine user who washed out of the judicial diversion program of court-supervised drug treatment was sentenced to four years in prison Wednesday.

Niagara County Judge Sara Sheldon Farkas had kicked James W. Jones, 48, of 15th Street, Niagara Falls, out of the treatment program in February after drug court staffers accused him of using the diversion program only as a means to stay out of prison. He had failed several drug tests during his seven months in the program.

Jones had pleaded guilty to third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance for having crack in his pocket when a parole officer visited him Jan. 18, 2012.
