Officials have identified the soldier who died at Fort Leonard Wood in Missouri last Thursday as Sgt. 1st Class Nathan Dolson Jr., of Niagara Falls.
Dolson, 49, was found unresponsive Aug. 29 in a barracks bathroom. He was pronounced dead in Gen. Leonard Wood Army Community Hospital.
Fort officials said Tuesday that the circumstances of his death are still under investigation.
Dolson was a drill sergeant assigned to Company C, 31st Engineer Battalion, 1st Engineer Brigade. He had been assigned to Fort Leonard Wood since August 2013.
Dolson received several awards and decorations, including the National Defense Service Medal.
