TOWN OF NIAGARA – The Town Board has called a special meeting for 4 p.m. Monday in Town Hall, and Deputy Supervisor Danny W. Sklarski said Friday he expects the board will vote on approval of the $71 million expansion of the Fashion Outlets of Niagara.
The giant mall plans to add 170,000 square feet of leasable retail space, or approximately 50 stores, to its existing 150-store, 526,000-square-foot complex.
In February, the town industrial development agency received an application for a 15-year tax break on the expansion, but hasn’t been able to act while the Town Board considered environmental impacts of the project. It is to be built on the site of the former Sabre Park mobile home community, acquired last year by the mall owners.
“We need to get moving on this so the developer can get going on construction,” Sklarski said.
