NIAGARA FALLS, Ont. – Niagara Parks Police Service spokesmen said Monday that they have warned at least one individual known to be planning a kayaking stunt on the Canadian side of the Horseshoe Falls that the pranksters face fines of up to $10,000 each under the Niagara Parks Act of Ontario and its regulations for any such stunt carried out without the written permission of the Niagara Parks Commission.
Officials said they also warned that if pranksters cause injuries or death to participants or to emergency service personnel, that they could face criminal prosecutions. No other details concerning the alleged planned stunt will be released, police officials said.
