CAMBRIA – State Sen. George D. Maziarz will be visiting Arrowhead Spring Vineyards in Cambria at 10 a.m. Monday to examine the winery’s wind turbine.
The winery installed the 10-kilowatt turbine off Cambria-Lockport Town Line Road last fall, taking advantage of a law Maziarz sponsored that allows the owners to obtain energy credits from connecting the turbine to multiple electric meters, enabling them to reduce their net energy costs. Excess power can be sold to National Grid.
The wind turbine has been a sore point with some of Arrowhead’s nearby residential neighbors, a few of whom have complained of noise and posted anti-Arrowhead signs on their lawns.
