The victim was working at the Niagara Gospel Rescue Mission between 6 and 7 p.m. when someone entered her purse, which had been left in a kitchen area, and ripped the blank checks out of a checkbook. The woman was advised to cancel all the checks, police said. Nothing else was reported missing.
