The North Tonawanda History Museum has several special events planned this summer.
• During Canal Fest of the Tonawandas, Monday through next Sunday, there are two presentations each day.
• At 1 p.m. the museum will show “The Grand Erie Canal,” a 62-minute video presentation, courtesy of Low Bridge Productions of Rochester.
• At 2 p.m., it will show “Cruising America’s Waterways,” an award-winning PBS series, courtesy of Media Artists. The program will include three episodes – “Buffalo to Lockport,” “Lockport to Newark,” and “Newark to Albany” – as well as “Fifteen Years on the Erie Canal,” by Jonathan Edwards.
• During the summer months, free publications will be offered with paid admission.
• From 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Aug. 3, the museum will hold its Summer Used Book Sale. A bag of books is $5; paperbacks are 50 cents or three for $1; hardcover books are $1 each, or three for $2.
