NIAGARA FALLS – A new three-year contract was ratified by members of the union representing most Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center employees in balloting whose results were jointly released late Wednesday by the hospital and Local 1199 of the Service Employees International Union, United Healthcare Workers East.
The contract provides pay raises totaling 9 percent over the life of the deal, including a retroactive pay increase dating back to Dec. 8, when the last contract expired.
The medical center will increase contributions to the union’s pension and training funds, while the sides compromised on health insurance revisions.
SEIU represents about 650 Memorial employees, including registered and licensed practical nurses, technicians and service and maintenance employees.
